Logo: AN EXTREMELY RARE "ILLINGWORTH " LIGHT SPINNING REEL WITH MAKERS ORIGINAL BOX, CIRCA 1930'S
Split or Built cane rods have been used by anglers since the mid to late 1800's.
Famous makers of these rods over the years such as Hardy, Farlows, Milwards, Chapmans, B.James, Walker Bampton and Allcocks are just a few of the names that are sought after by collectors.
Many different types of split cane rods were manufactured for over 150 years and some are still made today, mostly to order. They have been made to cater for every type of angling, whether you were spinning for pike, floatfishing for roach, prawning for salmon, dry fly fishing for trout or trolling for marlin! You name it, there was a rod made for the job.
Many of these old rods are still in use today by purist/traditional anglers, myself being one. There is nothing like trotting for roach armed with an Allcocks Aerial or similar and a Hardy Perfection Roach rod or the like.
The range of rods shown here are fully restored to their original correct specifications.
Have a look at these classic rods and contact me with any questions or for advice.

This old and rarely seen Alex Martin 'The Pike' 2 piece rod with seperate butt section came to me in a truly horrid state! it looked like it had been re-whipped many moons ago with parcel string and then varnished with a broom, circa 1940's this old rod deserved better, keep an eye on the transformation over the coming weeks.
