CENTERPIN REELS

A fully restored 1960's Allcocks Match Aerial

I was asked to restore and repair an old 1960's Allcocks Match Aerial. Well used, the reel was in poor shape, it had bent spokes and a broken release catch spring, a worn/bent centrepin, corrosion and 40% paint loss. The reel is now finished and is in as new condition with a new centrepin, new spring, straight spokes, full paintjob etc, the reel now spins like a top and is perfect for either a display cabinet or better still, trotting down on the river!

A fully restored 4' Speedia wide drum centrepin, circa 1960

This reel came to me with no handles, was unable to turn, wobbled on pin, with 75% paint loss and water corosion from being put away wet many years ago. This reel certainly came up a treat as the pictures show

Two fully restored Allcocks Match Aerials, circa 1930's

These two Match Aerials came to me in quite a state, all the finish was worn away on the back, the aluminium spool was pitted and coroded, spokes were bent, missing handles, missing centre grubscrew for setting height of spool, faulty check etc, etc, etc. On this particular model only the backplate was blackened this finish was all but totally removed from use, a chemical compound was put on the backplate to bring it back to original standard.
